Job Summary

The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Cardiac Catheter Labs across Birmingham Heartlands Solihull and Good Hope Hospitals. Job Overview

As a Band 5 nurse in cardiology you will deliver specialist care in the cardiac catheter lab and support acute medical nursing teams. You will work across multiple hospital sites participate in weekend and overnight on call duties and contribute to developing patient care standards.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Deliver patient centered care ensuring safety and high standards.

  • Work in the cardiac catheter lab providing specialized nursing support.

  • Share knowledge with patients relatives and nursing teams.

  • Participate in shift management clinical leadership and team supervision.

Qualifications Experience and Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register.

  • Ability to revalidate as required by the NMC.

Experience

  • Experience in acute secondary NHS care.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Understanding of NMC code safeguarding Mental Capacity and NHS policies.

Skills

  • Numeracy and literacy including drug administration calculations.

  • Proficient in clinical skills and IT systems.

  • Effective communication caring attitude reliability and professionalism.

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights and weekends.
